My School Tour

by Julie O’ Brien 3rd Year

There was a big difference as we arrived at the airport in Spain. It was warmer than the unpredictable Irish weather. Everyone was buzzing with excitement as we made our way to the hostel where we would be spending the next few days. The hostel was really nice and in the evenings there was always something to do. We could use the computers and there was a swimming pool as well. To begin our trip we went sightseeing to get to know the area. We saw lots of interesting buildings and statues. For the next few days we explored our surroundings by visiting the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona stadium, Las Ramblas and Gaudi’s park where we saw all of Gaudi’s famous work. The weather was really good and we made use of it by going to the beach. One of my favourite parts of the trip was going to Porta Aventura. Even though the queues for the big rollercoasters were long it was worth the wait. On our last day we ended the trip by going to the zoo and doing some shopping. We all had a really good time in Barcelona getting to know each other and we were sad to leave it behind.
