PROTOCOLS FOR REPORTING ABSENCE:


Protocol for the student who is absent for one or more days from school

  1. Note to be written in the relevant section of the Student Journal and signed by the Parent / Guardian. Medical Certificate to be attached if possible. This is particularly relevant for LCA students.

  1. Note to be presented to the Class Tutor at Tutor Time who will initial the note.

  1. Student is responsible for catching up on any work missed. Subject Teachers will support where necessary.

Protocol for the student who is late in the morning during roll call

  1. Student to sign in with the Deputy Principal. Late Stamp to be put in Journal. Three late stamps will be given a sanction by the Class Tutor.

Protocol for the student who is signing in late due to an appointment

  1. Parent / Guardian to write a note in the Student’s Journal.

  1. Parent / Guardian must sign the student into school in the ‘signing in/signing out’ register in Reception.

Protocol for the student who is signing out during the school day

  1. Parent / Guardian must write an explanatory note in the student’s Journal. The note must state why the student is signing out early, what time the student will be collected at and by whom.

  1. The note is to be presented to the Class Tutor for signing during Tutor Time.

  1. The student must present the signed note to the Subject Teacher of the class they will be leaving who will then sign the note.

  1. The student should then report to Reception to wait to be signed out by the Parent / Guardian.

  1. In the event of an emergency a phone-call should be made to the school detailing the emergency, what time the student will be collected and by whom.

  1. The school cannot allow students to sign out with anyone other than the Parent / Guardian, except where the Parent / Guardian has notified the College by phone or in writing.
