Congratulations to our 6 Meitheal Leaders who received their Meitheal Awards yesterday in the Riverbank Hotel. Our Meitheal Leaders are Anna O’ Brien, Johnathon Earle, Danielle Sheil, Sean Guerin, Aron Blackmore and Rebecca Kehoe. It was a great afternoon with music from the band Thunderstruck and entertainment from other schools from around the region. There were over 120 Meitheal Leaders in attendance.The Meitheal system is a training programme for students at senior level in secondary schools. The students are trained to become mentors for incoming students at junior level. It is a programme based on pro-respect between students and enables students to take responsibility for the happiness of others and for the safety and well being of all who share a school environment. Well done also to our 2 first years Brendan Manning and Nicole Kirwin who presented the awards to our leaders.
