My name is Amy White, I am a TY student. On the 19th of September 2017, we went to the Ploughing Championships in Screggan, Tullamore in County Offaly.
I had never been and was very excited. All the stalls and tents were very interesting. It was so much fun to have the freedom of walking around on our own. My favourite tent was either the Science or the Enterprise tents. Both were very fascinating.
There were very funny moments during this trip, for example, my friend and I got lost for thirty minutes and we finally found a Garda, who made us look dense when he showed us how to use the map properly. We eventually got to where we wanted to go and found out we were very close to it already.
My friends and I also met Louis Walsh. It was a huge experience for all of us. That was the highlight of the day.
Overall it was probably the most fun I’ve ever had. It was nice to just walk around and enjoy the day with my friends. For someone like me who doesn’t like farming or come from an agricultural family I really enjoyed it and would definitely go again.
