From the 23rd to the 27th of October the TY students went out on their first work experience, each student was given paperwork a few weeks before that to go out and try and find work experience that’ll hopefully give them an idea to decide of what they’d like to do after they finish in Kilmuckridge or after they finish college/university.

I went to Gorey Hire Centre for the week that I had the work experience and I enjoyed learning about the different factors of the hire business such as the different machinery/tools that you would need for a variety of jobs

Also I learned about if someone needs something for only half a day how you would just bring back the cost for them just to be fair, the mechanic that was there also let me help him to service some of the machines and know what to look at before a machine goes out on hire. The next time we’re doing our work experience will be from the 29th of January to the 9th of February, I’m looking forward to see what I’ll get into and see what I’ll pick up from going into these different businesses.
