On Monday the 12th of September I went to the Netherlands to compete in Surf Lifesaving world championships. When I arrived on Monday in Eindhoven, I went straight to the pool to have a practice session in it to make sure I knew what it was going to be like. The following two days of competition were held in the pool, I did ok in there. I came close to qualifying in one of my races but was knocked out in the semi-finals. I got disqualified in my next race which was a huge disappointment because it was one of my favorite events and I knew I could do well in it. The pool part of the competition was the finished in the evening and I was glad to get out of the pool considering that it was 36’C inside.

On Thursday morning the team and I travelled to Noordwijk for the ocean part of the competition. I had my best race that day the 500m surf swim, in which came 14th. I also had a relay that day. We did very well in it, we came 7th. For the final the two days of the competition I had only of race but I got knocked out in the semi-finals. All in all, I had a great time and it was an amazing experience to be racing with people that are Olympians and soon to be Olympians.
