On the 27th of January 2017 our U17 boys played there soccer final against St.Killians, Bray. We left school at 9:45 and match started at 11 O’Clock in Arklow Town’s pitch (astro). We started off rusty as it was a very wet and windy day. Craig O’Reilly ran down the left wing and was fouled, Shane Cahill whipped the ball in and Jack White got the end of it and banged it in the back of the net with his head. They went up and scored just before half time, it was a very flukey goal as it was deflected off one of our defenders and scuttered into the goal. It was half time.
The wind and rain got worse and we were against it so we panicked against it and they ended up scoring again. Eoin Murphy was solid at the Right back position. We picked up a few injuries along the way as Jake Nobbs was limping for a good bit of the match and finding it hard to run. Darragh murphy, our goalkeeper was taken off as he got a knee to the head and was feeling dizzy so we didn’t want to take a risk with him in the goal. They then got a third goal which was a good goal from there striker and lobbed our substitute goalkeeper Jake Tyrell. The lads then dropped there heads and everything went down hill and the end score finished as a disappointing 4-1. We then got our medals and headed home.
