- Helps guarantee student safety in practical subjects

Uniform:
- Navy jumper with Coláiste an Átha crest. (Available from Hore’s Stores, Wexford).
- Light blue polo shirt.
- Navy trousers or girls may opt to wear a navy skirt.
- Black, laced, non-marking shoes. Runners are not permitted.
- School Jacket for all students. Jackets can be ordered from Liam Spratt at 087 2616739 or lspratt@eircom.net.
- For P.E. students should wear a t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms and non-marking runners.
Guidelines for items not covered under ‘Uniform’
- One pair of stud earrings are allowed in each ear. Large earrings are banned for health and safety reasons.
- Only one small finger ring allowed per student. All rings must be removed when instructed for health & safety reasons.
- No other body piercings are permitted, visible or not.
- Hair must be neat and tidy at all times.
- No heavy make up.
Discretionary powers of school management:
School management reserves the right to adjudicate on the appropriateness of hair styles, body piercings, other jewellery, make up, footwear and other items of clothing not covered by these rules under ‘Uniform’ above (see also the above ‘Guidelines for items not covered under ‘Uniform’).
Disciplinary measures:
The wearing of school uniform will be inspected daily
Parents / Guardians of students not complying with school uniform policy will be contacted to bring in the proper school uniform or take their son / daughter home. In the event of being unable to contact Parents / Guardians students will be placed in detention if out of school uniform.
Flagrant and / or persistent breaches of these rules will be treated as a serious breach of school discipline. Students are reminded that under the school discipline code, repeated detentions may lead to students going ‘On Report’ and / or suspension.
It is the responsibility of Parents / Guardians to ensure that their son / daughter is in full school uniform before leaving home each morning.
School management reserve the right to review and amend this policy in response to changing circumstances and situations.
