Coláiste an Átha got their 1st win of their campaign Vs CBS New Ross in an entertaining encounter! Kilmuckridge started the brighter of the two sides with Dara Cahill denied early by a good save. The 1st goal came shortly after with John Farrell clearing the ball to Dillon Kearns who sprinted down the line squaring the ball to Jordan Betts who headed Coláiste an Átha into the lead. The 2nd goal came from very good teamwork as Dara Cahill crossed the ball only for New Ross to clear to the edge of the box and Lee Murphy let rip a shot that drilled through a defender and the keepers legs! Just after the break New Ross pulled one back. We regained the 2 goal cushion after Dillon Kearns magnificant solo run ended with a great individual goal. New Ross scored to make it a nervous last few minutes. New Ross pushed hard for the equaliser but failed to beat a strong Kilmukridge defense. Man of the Match went to Dillon Kearns for his great performance. – Report by Sean Quinn 5th year.
